MDT Trucking & Transport isn’t just a business—it’s personal.
The name MDT comes from my father’s nickname, “Mad Dog” Thornton, and me, Dawn Thornton. I started this company in 2023 with a simple goal: to build something real, something lasting, and something I could be proud of.
The purple and gold you see in our brand is a nod to Dad's Omega Psi Phi roots.
My dad used to say:
“If you want to run with the big dogs, get off the porch.”
That’s the mindset behind MDT. We run with purpose. We're not here to play small. We’re here to work, to grow, and to build something that lasts.
What We've Built
We’ve been putting in the work where it matters most:
- Helping with hurricane cleanup after Milton and Helene
- Hauling for construction sites—both residential and commercial
- Taking on clean-outs and property jobs across the area
- Building relationships with people who just need someone reliable
We’ve learned a lot along the way. Some things worked. Some didn’t. But we kept moving.
